President signs Thornberry defense bill

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, made the following statement after the President signed the FY16 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law.

“The policies in the bill the President signed today are identical to the policies he vetoed on Oct. 22. The only difference is this bill authorizes $5 billion less for our military. Given recent events, we may all wish we had that $5 billion back to help protect the country."
