Alibates offers Star Gazing Party May 20

Enjoy a night out under the starry sky Saturday, May 20 at the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument's Spring Star Party. Programs begin at 7:30 p.m. with park ranger lead presentations about the cosmos at the Alibates Visitor Center located just outside of Fritch. This event is part of the Night Skies Program for children seeking to earn their Junior Ranger Night Explorer patch. At. 9:00 p.m., park rangers will have a theater presentation. At 9:30 p.m., outdoor viewing of the night sky begins.

The event is free and open to the public. Visitors are asked to bring outdoor clothing, lawn chairs and insect repellent to make the evening more enjoyable.
