Nutrien donates to upcoming fishing tournament

Charles Kerr, right, president of the Lake Meredith Small-Fry Fishing Tournament Association, recently accepted a donation from Bryan Triplett, general manager of the Borger Nutrien Plant. The annual tournament will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug.

Dog lovers take note! July 31 is National Mutt Day!

Today is National Mutt Day. The holiday, which is celebrated twice a year, was created in 2005 Colleen Paige to raise awareness of the rate at which mixed breed dogs are abandoned in shelters. According to Nationalmuttday.com, approximately 80% of dogs in shelters are mixed breeds.

Auditions to be held for Borger Community Theatre’s fall production

The Borger Community Theatre will be staging “Seussical the Musical” this fall for it’s third production following the previous productions of “The Foreigner” and “A Tuna Christmas.”

Children’s musician Andy Mason delights kids at Borger library branch

Children and parents gathered at the Hutchinson County Library branch in Borger at 2 p.m. Wednesday to enjoy an hour of music and fun provided by children’s musician Andy Mason, who also held concerts at the Fritch and Stinnett library branches.

Award winning children's musician Andy Mason will perform Wednesday at all three branches of the Hutchinson County Library.
Mason will perform at 10 a.m. at the Stinnett branch, 2 p.m. at the Borger branch and 4 p.m. at the Fritch branch.

Fun with science at Borger library

On July 10, around 80 children gathered at the Borger branch of the Hutchinson County Library to learn about chemical reactions from the Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo. The program was sponsored by the Friends of the Library, a nonprofit group that supports the library.

Donations sought for Lake Meredith fireworks show

The July 3, 2019, fireworks show at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area will be shot off between Sanford Yake and Fritch Fortress.

Congratulations on your well deserved accomplishments Borger Inc and all of the Leadership Borger graduates! Last night at the chamber banquet the Borger Economic Development Corporation’s (Borger Inc.) chairman and president Michelle Griffin won citizen of the year.
