United we stand at $641,853.06

The $645,000 goal was missed just slightly, but the $641,853.06 raised by Hutchinson Countians for the Hutchinson County United Way is still impressive - very.
“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all you do,” said United Way Director Julie Winters at yesterday’s Celebration Luncheon held at Graced Land East. “Every charitable organization in our county will benefit from your generosity.”
Agrium took the Industry Challenge and Cornerstone awards with 97% employee participation for a total of $43,113.
The Small Industry Challenge award was given to Xcel Energy for 83% employee participation for a total of $12,280.
Happy State Bank won the Bank Challenge with 100% employee participation for a total of $2,693.
United Supermarket took the Big Heart Award for going above and beyond with ongoing employee giving as did Brock.
The Spirit of Hutchinson County was presented to Zachry for increased giving of 50%; to Borger Post Office for increased giving of $52; to Happy State Bank for increased giving of 72%; to Sid Richardson for increased giving of 230%; and to the Borger News-Herald for increased giving of 832%.
Other Exceptional Achievement awards were presented to Walmart; City of Borger; Pioneer; Xcel Energy; and Fuzzy’s Radiator.
“We’re going to shoot for $645,000 again next year,” said Winters. “We’ll keep that as our goal until we go over it.”
