NEWS: Area McDonalds workers on adrift cruise ship in Mexico

February 12, 2013

Two local McDonald's workers have gotten more than they expected after hopping on the cruise ship Carnival Triumph last week
While the vessel was sailing about 150 miles off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, the ship caught fire in the aft (after) engine room. The ship’s automatic fire extinguishing systems activated and the fire was successfully extinguished.
The ship departed Galveston, Texas, on Thursday, February 7 and was scheduled to return on Monday, Feb. 11.
