The Borger Independent School Board of Trustees will be taking action to cancel its upcoming election.
This action will be taken during the boardâ€™s regular meeting, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in the conference room of the BISD Administration Building, 200 East Ninth.
The board will be acting to certify the election, will consider an order canceling the election, and adopt a resolution for the cancellation of the trustee election.
Action will also be taken on budget amendments, along with the boardâ€™s consent agenda, which includes the instruction materials allotment and TEKS certification, 2012-2012; the purchase of copy paper, donations, March 2012 payroll and disbursements, and minutes from its March meeting.
Under personnel matters, the board will act on resignations, will consider the superintendentâ€™s recommendations regarding employment, and will review the list of substitutes. A staffing report will also be presented.
Campus reports will be presented during the meeting. A report will be presented on Borger High School, which includes 1-AAA UIL Academic Results, V.A.S.E. Results â€“ 2012, and the BHS Choir Contest. There will also be reports presented on Borger Intermediate School, Gateway Elementary School, and the Athletic Department, during which time recognition will take place.
Under the superintendentâ€™s report, enrollment numbers for March 2012 will be reviewed, along with upcoming dates. A security update will also be presented.
The annual SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) report will be presented, along with reports on finances and taxes. The board will also discuss future agenda items.
A time of open forum will be held for the public to express its views to the board. Speakers are allowed five minutes, and the board cannot comment on items discussed in open forum.
